Nature reports that the Canadian Association of Postdoctoral Scholars is protesting a proposal in the nation's 2010 budget that would tax their salaries, saying that "the taxation would create an unfair disparity between postdocs and graduate students, because graduate students' compensation is not taxed." According to Nature, CAPS is seeking to meet with officials before the budget vote this spring.
