Jason Stajich at the Hyphal Tip announces the release of the genome sequences and annotations of Neurospora tetrasperma (mat A) and N. discreta (mat A). Both assemblies have 8X coverage and the N. tetrasperma assembly has an N50 of 976kb and N. discreta comes in with one of 2.3Mb. Stajich says that they have also done some 454 sequencing of N. tetrasperma that will bring the coverage up to 23X and double the N50.
