Is Biotech Funding Seeing a Slow Downward Spiral?

Over at VentureBeat, David Hamilton confirms what he recently wrote about, that of clearly diminishing venture capital investments in biotech startups. Though aggregate biotech funding over the first three quarters of this year remains up compared to last year, he writes, biotech funding in the third quarter was lower than any quarter since the first quarter of 2006, and was also the worst third quarter since the post-bust days of 2002.
