The US National Institutes of Health has issued a funding opportunity announcement to support translational research-based collaborations between intramural and extramural researchers. "It will provide support for extramural investigators to take advantage of the unique research opportunities available at the NIH Clinical Center by conducting research projects in collaboration with NIH intramural investigators," the announcement says.
Sally Rockey, the deputy director for extramural research at NIH, wrote at her Rock Talk blog over the summer that "this will allow extramural researchers to access resources such as the metabolic unit, pharmaceutical development capabilities, advanced imaging services and more."
The application due date is March 20, 2013.
