Frances Murphy, co-head of the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare group of Slaughter and May, has been named to head the international law firm’s flagship corporate team, effective May 1. Murphy will succeed Chris Saul, who has been named a senior partner.
Murphy joined Slaughter and May in 1981, and became a partner in 1990. Among deals she has been involved with in recent years include advising BAE on its acquisition of Alvis, and advising General Electric on the acquisition of Smiths Group Aerospace and a detection joint venture with Smiths Group.
