NEW YORK — Biomarker discovery firm Sapient Bioanalytics said Thursday that it has partnered with Rancho Biosciences to expand and refine its multiomics database.
The Sapient Human Biology Database is a collection of metabolic, lipidomic, proteomics, and genomic measures derived from over 100,000 human samples, paired with more than 130 million phenotypic data points, according to Sapient.
Under the deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, San Diego-based Rancho will help expand the infrastructure around the database to speed up the ingestion of multiomics and real-world data and to homogenize new and existing datasets.
"By working with Rancho on the next generation of our database … we're creating a pathway to efficiently add more types of omics data, including more proteomics and genomics measures, alongside patient data that is standardized and curated for discovery," Sapient Cofounder and Head of Data Science Tao Long said in a statement.
Sapient, headquartered in San Diego, secured $688,500 in funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation last year to advance metabolite identification technology.
