NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – The Baylor College of Medicine is receiving $4.75 million from the Albert and Margaret Alkek Foundation to establish centers for metagenomics and microbiome research, as well as metabolomic research, it announced on Wednesday.

Money from the gift will also support faculty recruitment efforts and drug development work at the college.
