Japanese brewery Suntory has developed a DNA microarray to measure the expression of all genes of beer yeast. The firm recently announced that its researchers had conducted a comprehensive gene analysis of beer yeast and located all genes involved in beer brewing.

Agilent has launched a new whole-mouse-genome microarray. The microarray incorporates the most current mouse-genome data from RefSeq, Ensembl, UCSC Golden Path, RIKEN, NIA, MGI, GenBank, and UniGene.

ViagenX has developed the Magex Frog cDNA Array, a new microarray intended to enhance research and developmental biology and environmental toxicology. The Magex array was constructed using isolated gene fragments from Xenopus laevis and Rana catesbeiana frog species.

BD Biosciences has launched the BD ProLabel Screening & Detection Kits for measuring the expression level of any gene of interest in total cell lysates. The kits were designed to provide a functional assay for protein knockdown RNAi studies.

Denmark’s Exiqon has launched a new Rat ProbeLibrary gene expression analysis kit. The launch comes three months after the firm introduced its Human and Mouse Probe Library products.

5AM Solutions has launched the Microarray Enterprise Manager, a web-based software platform that manages all aspects of expression profiling laboratory workflow, data annotation, standardization, and sharing. It is the first product commercialized by 5AM.

GenUs BioSystems launched a gene expression profiling service for picogram quantities of RNA, offering the service to researchers who have as few as 10 cells or 100 picograms of total RNA. GenUs uses the Arcturus RiboAmp RNA Amplification Kit to generate RNA to run experiments on GE Healthcare’s CodeLink bioarrays.
