Qiagen Forms Veterinary Testing Alliance With UK Agency

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Qiagen said today that it has formed a collaboration with the British Veterinary Laboratories Agency to commercialize a portfolio of PCR-based veterinary molecular assays outside the UK.

Under the terms of the deal, Qiagen has acquired a license to market seven assays for infectious veterinary diseases affecting livestock such as cows and horses. The assays are to be validated by VLA.

Also under the arrangement, Qiagen will receive rights to future molecular assays for veterinary applications developed by VLA.

Additional terms were not disclosed.
