The authors developed an approach to combine imputation results from several independent software packages, with each package serving as a basic classifier in an ensemble-based system. The approach was used on data from 3,078 registered Angus cattle, each genotyped with the Illumina BovineSNP50 BeadChip.

Using the Affymetrix SNP 6.0, the authors found that allelic frequency for the VKORC1 polymorphism was differently distributed according to self-declared ethnicity, and the frequency of intermediate plus poor metabolizers was higher in populations of European descent compared to other Brazilian populations.

A microarray immobilized with 105 aldehyde-containing small molecules was screened against mammalian cell lysates over-expressing cathepsin L to identify two potent inhibitors, which were subsequently converted into cell-permeable probes capable of live-cell imaging of endogenous cysteinyl cathepsin activities by two-photon fluorescence microscopy.
