PerkinElmer, SPSS

PerkinElmer last week launched OneSource, a new business that will provide service and support — from repairs to validation certification to education and training. The company will have 1,000 service reps in 120 companies to do preventative maintenance, uphold 24-hour response times, or perform daily on-site support for PerkinElmer instrumentation.

PerkinElmer also rolled out local language capabilities for its Labworks LIMS product, unveiled at PittCon in Orlando, Fla., last week. The product’s interface has versions in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese.

SPSS announced that it would ship its SigmaStat statistical software package this week. The software is designed for ease of use, offering step-by-step guidance through analysis, from picking the appropriate technique, to checking assumptions in the data, to reporting results in plain English, the company said.
