Christian Gabriel, medical director of Blood Center Linz in Austria;

Jörg Hoheisel, head of the division of functional genome analysis at the German Cancer Research Center;

Harald Kessler, director of the laboratory and the research unit for molecular diagnostics of pathogens at the Medical University of Graz in Austria;

Klaus Weinberger, vice president for research and development of vaccine maker Bavarian Nordic.

Purnell Choppin Dies

Purnell Choppin, a virologist who led the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, has died at 91, according to the Washington Post.
