CombiMatrix has tapped Mark McGowan to serve on its board of directors. McGowan is the managing member of SAF Capital Management, and he co-founded and served as managing partner of MPG Capital Management.

Mike Hoerres has joined Geisinger Ventures as a principal. Ventures is Geisinger Health System's for-profit venture arm.

Prior to joining Geisinger, Hoerres was vice president of business development at Source MDx. He also served previously as clinical market development manager at Affymetrix and director of business development at Incyte Genomics.

Sequenom has appointed Wolfgang Holzgreve to its clinical advisory board. Holzgreve currently is director and chairman of the board of directors at the University Hospital Freiburg, Germany, and he formerly was chairman of the department and chief of service at the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Basel.
