Jon Faiz Kayyem has assumed the role of full-time CEO at Osmetech while the firm continues to search for a new CEO to replace former CEO James White, who stepped down in July.

Kayyem, a board member and founder of the firm's molecular diagnostics business, had been serving as a joint interm CEO with Osmetech Chairman Chris Gleeson.

Board member Mark Lappe, meantime, has resigned from his position to focus on his management consulting business, Osmetech said.


Strand Life Sciences has tapped François Mandeville for the post of executive vice president of marketing, technology, and strategy. Mandeville previously served at Hewlett-Packard and at Agilent Technologies, where he developed software for chemical analysis, life sciences, and telecommunications.


Earl Collier has resigned from his post as a director of Decode Genetics, the company said last week in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In the filing, Decode said that the resignation was not due to any disagreements he had with the company about operations or policies.


David Barker, former chief scientific officer at Illumina, and Lynne Kielhorn, a founder of Nanodrop, will serve as advisors to nucleic acids analysis toolmaker Helixis, the firm said last month.
