PerkinElmer has named Lapo Paladini to the new position of chief marketing officer and to serve as senior vice president. Paladini has been with the company since 1982, and he has served as president Asia Pacific, East Europe, Middle East, and South America, and in other executive sales and marketing positions.

The California Healthcare Institute has elected Carl Hull to its board of directors. Hull is president and CEO of Gen-Probe, where he formerly was executive vice president and chief operating officer. He also previously was vice president and general manager of Applied Biosystems' SAS array business, and he held a number of jobs at Applied Imaging.

Gregory Porter was recently named executive director of business development at Gentris. Porter is responsible for targeted sales in microarrays, toxicogenomics, and biorepositories.
