New Products: Veredus Laboratories' VereTrop Test

Veredus Laboratories, a Singapore-based molecular diagnostics company, last week launched VereTrop, a biochip that the firm claims can identify 13 major tropical diseases from a single blood sample, including dengue fever, malaria, chikungunya disease and hand, foot, and mouth disease.

The chip was developed in collaboration with infectious disease experts from Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology, and Research. It is based on STMicroelectronics' microfluidic lab-on-chip platform.
