GenoLogics and SAS said last week that they will integrate GenoLogics' Geneus lab and data-management platform with the JMP Genomics statistical discovery software marketed by SAS business unit JMP.
Scientists can use Geneus to store and manage sample information, workflows, and raw data, the firms said. Adding JMP Genomics software will enable researchers to interact with this data during their analysis to find patterns in gene expression and proteomics projects, the companies said.
Asper Biotech has upgraded its ABCR, ARRP, and ADRP chips to include new mutations associated with a number of eye diseases.
Asper recently added 18 mutations to its ABCR chip, which now tests for 519 mutations in the ABCR gene that are associated with Stargardt's disease and cone-rod dystrophy. Ninety-five new mutations have been added to the ARRP chip, which now tests for 585 mutations in 18 genes associated with autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa. Seventeen mutations have been added to the ADRP chip, which now tests for 370 mutations in 15 genes associated with autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa.
