Luminex has received US Patent Number 6,411,904, “Zero dead time architecture for flow cytometer.” The patent covers a method for detecting biological analytes quickly. In the method a circular buffer is used to store data from a flow analyzer in a number of data storage areas. The user can specify the sampling rate, method, size, and number of storage areas, and the size of the buffer, the signal-to-noise threshold, order of processing, and fixed trailing distance.
