Larry Heaton II was named president, CEO and director of Curon Medical of Sunnyvale, Calif. Heaton occupied the same positions for Response Genetics, an applied genomics startup conducting clinical trial gene expression services for the pharmaceutical industry. Previously, Heaton worked for United States Surgical in operations, sales, and marketing positions leading to his appointment as president and COO.

Jeffrey Williams has been named executive vice president and general manager for the new Ambion RNA diagnostics division of Ambion of Austin, Texas. Previously, Williams was vice president and US site manager for Roche Diagnostics.
