James Gibson will receive an annual base salary $230,000 for serving as principal accounting officer of Affymetrix, the firm said last week in an 8-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
In addition, Affy granted Gibson 7,500 restricted shares of its common stock, of which 2,500 shares will vest on each of the second, third, and fourth anniversaries of the Jan. 17 grant date, the company said.
Gibson was promoted to principal accounting officer following the departure last month of Greg Schiffman as chief financial offer (see BAN 12/19/2006).
Epigenomics last week said it has named Geert Nygaard as its new CEO.
Nygaard comes to the company from Abbott, where he was managing director and management board member. Nygaard also has worked at the Swiss company Dako and at Beckman Instruments.
Agilent Technologies has promoted Rodney Gonsalves to the post of director of investor relations, the company said last week.
Gonsalves recently served Agilent as controller of corporate governance and customer financing in the company’s global infrastructure organization. He succeeds Hilliard Terry, who was named vice president and treasurer last November.
