Sysmex of Hyogo, Japan, has received US Patent No. 8,187,809, "Method for judging lymph node metastasis of stomach cancer and kit used therefor." A marker is provided that is capable of diagnosing the lymph node metastasis of stomach cancer. According to the patent, microarray technology can be used to detect an mRNA coding for at least one protein selected from TFF1, AGR2, PRSS8, MUC1, MUC4, and MUC17 that is useful as a lymph node metastasis marker.
