Fluidigm, Qiagen to Develop Gene Expression Panels

By a GenomeWeb staff reporter

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Fluidigm today said that it has partnered with Qiagen's SABiosciences to create more than 100 pathway-focused gene expression panels to run on Fluidigm's BioMark System for Genetic Analysis.

The kits, called RT2 Profiler PCR Arrays, will be validated for real-time PCR analysis on the BioMark system. Each reagent kit will include pre-aliquoted reagents and primers needed for synthesizing first-strand cDNA ready for pre-amplification and pathway-focused analysis, said Fluidigm. The PCR Arrays will contain enough reagents to run five of Fluidigm's 96.96 Dynamic Array chips.

"SABiosciences solutions focusing on the analysis of pathways with real time assay panel kits are an excellent fit to our products," Mike Lee, Fluidigm's senior director of marketing, said in a statement. "The kits include 96 cataloged gene expression assays, targeting genes in signal transduction, biological process, and disease-related pathways."
