Brazil's Helixxa Becomes a Certified Service Provider for Roche NimbleGen

By a GenomeWeb staff reporter

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Roche NimbleGen said this week that Brazilian genomics services firm Helixxa has joined the Roche NimbleGen Certified Service Provider Program.

As a result, Helixxa is certified to process customer samples for NimbleGen Gene Expression arrays in its laboratory.

Based in São Paulo, Helixxa is the first and only genomics service provider in Latin America, Roche NimbleGen said, and the only company in the region offering multiple Roche Applied Science products. In a statement, Roche NimbleGen CEO Frank Pitzer added that Helixxa is his firm's first certified service provider in Latin America for gene expression and comparative genome hybridization applications.

"This partnership … represents a significant step forward positioning Roche NimbleGen for aggressive expansion into the rapidly growing genomics market in Brazil and Latin America," Pitzer said.
