Alan Higgins has joined Paradigm Genetics of Research Triangle Park, NC, as senior director, investiga-tional medicine, and Faye O’Brien joined as senior director, healthcare marketing, the company said last week. Higgins was senior director, pharmacology, for Nobex, and had held positions with Oncogene Science, Hoffman-La Roche, and Pfizer Central Research. O’Brien was senior director, product management and marketing, for Gene Logic. Previously, she worked with Centocor - Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, and Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals.
Vincent Andaloro was named clinical site director of the MDS Pharma Services early clinical research facility in Phoenix, Ariz. Andalor previously was director of method development and validation at the company’s facility in Lincoln, Neb.
James Bergey was appointed vice president of business development, and Frank Guarnieri was named principal founding scientist for Locus Pharmaceuticals of Blue Bell, Pa. Bergey previously was vice president of business development for NeoPharm. He has worked with Inkine Pharmaceutical, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Guarnieri previously was group head of biophysics and bioinformatics with Sarnoff.
Francis Brown was named senior vice president of sales and marketing for Celgene. Previously he held a number of executive positions for Pharmacia.
