Agencourt Bioscience, Ovation Biotin System

Agencourt Bioscience has launched the RNAPrep kit for isolating total RNA from eukaryotic cells. The kit utilizes the firm’s SPRI (Solid Phase Reversible Immobilization) magnetic bead technology. The kit is the second product released by Agencourt this year, following the launch of its RNAClean purification kit for in vitro cDNA and RNA clean up.

Following on the release of its Ovation Biotin System earlier this year, San Carlos, Calif.-based NuGen this week launched its new Ovation RNA Amplification System. The new system is designed for pre-amplification prior to quanititative real-time PCR analysis. Like the Ovation Biotin System, the new product is based on the firm’s Ribo-SPIA (single-primer isothermal amplification) technology.
