Affymetrix: Dec 18, 2007

Affymetrix last week launched its Genotyping Console 2.0 Software, an analysis tool for determining SNP genotypes and chromosomal copy number changes in whole-genome association and cytogenetic studies.
According to Affy, GTC 2.0 includes copy number and loss-of-heterozygosity algorithms for its SNP Array 6.0; a segment-reporting tool capable of describing all copy number changes across a sample; a genotyping console genome browser that offers a graphical interface; and GeneChip-compatible software enhancements that allow it to integrate with other data analysis packages.
The GTC 2.0 is intended for research use only for cytogenetic analysis, the firm added.
