NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — Wafergen BioSystems said today it has landed $1.3 million in a private placement of common stock.
 
Wafergen last week said it had gained $10.7 million in financing as it completed a reverse merger with a shell company.
  
The company said last week it plans to use the proceeds from the investment for corporate infrastructure and product offerings, such as the company’s SmartChip system.
