Virco Lab to Market SmartGene's HIV Platform

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – HIV resistance testing company Virco Lab will market SmartGene's web-based data management module to HIV researchers.

The SmartGene HIV platform will enable researchers to use both the SmartGene and Virco services to send an order for sequence data interpretation, and then to store the HIV-1resistance reports within their SmartGene database.

Virco will market the SmartGene HIV module as an integrated data management solution that encompasses various interpretation algorithms, multiple genetic targets, and cumulative resistance reporting, SmartGene said.

David Ellis, president of SmartGene, said in a statement that the HIV platform is ideal for researchers seeking to analyze new genetic targets for resistance.
