Deadlines
September 7 – Abstract submission deadline for the October Genomes, Medicine, and the Environment 2007 meeting in San Diego.
September 15 – Full proposal target date for NSF program, Biotechnology, Biochemical, and Biomass Engineering (BBBE), which supports genomic and proteomic research projects that aim to utilize renewable resources.
September 15 – Full proposal target date for Biophotonics, Advanced Imaging, and Sensing for Human Health (BISH). BISH is an NSF program that encourages innovative basic research in photonics, imaging, and sensing for new technologies for medical diagnostics and related therapies.
September 20 – Application deadline for the Data Analysis Center for the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements (ENCODE) Project (U01) grant. This NIH-funded research will develop and implement a Data Analysis Center to coordinate and assist in the analysis of data produced by the ENCODE Consortium.
September 30 – Abstract submission deadline for the Fifth Symposium on the Functional Genomics of Critical Illness and Injury at the NIH in Bethesda this November.
October 5 – Abstract submission deadline for Plant and Animal Genome XVI conference in San Diego.
October 18 – Application deadline for the NIH grant, Genome-wide Association Studies in the Genes, Environment, and Health Initiative - Study Investigators (U01). The program goal is to conduct genome-wide association genotyping and/or replication studies for conditions of considerable public health importance.
October 22 – Application deadline for the NIH grant, NIGMS National Centers for Systems Biology (P50). National Institute of General Medical Sciences is promoting the establishment of National Centers for Systems Biology, focusing on bioinformatics and computational biology, molecular and cell biology, biophysics, and genetics and developmental biology, among others.
