Unilever Expands Partnership With Genomatica

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Home-products giant Unilever has decided to expand a collaboration with Genomatica begun in 2005, Unilever said recently. 
 
Under the expanded agreement, the companies will use Genomatica's metabolic modeling and simulation technologies to “accelerate the development of novel ingredients to improve the effectiveness of Unilever products,” Genomatica said in a statement. 
 
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed, but include research and development support, technology license fees, and milestone payments with Genomatica retaining commercial rights to discoveries for applications outside of Unilever's fields of interest.
