UK's MRC Selects Geneservice as Preferred Supplier for DNA Sequencing

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) - UK's Medical Research Council has selected Geneservice as one of three preferred sequencing service providers for its 35 research sites, the company said today.

Under the contract, Geneservice will be a preferred supplier for three years. MRC scientists will work with the company's DNA sequencing team.

According to Roger Turner, a director with the company, Geneservice has been providing DNA sequencing services to some of the sites for several years.

Launched in August 2005 following a management buyout of the UK Medical Research Council Biological Resource Center, the privately owned company employs around 30 people.
