Tecan, PhyNexus Team Up to Automate Protein Purification

By a GenomeWeb staff reporter

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Tecan announced today that it and PhyNexus have collaborated to develop a standard process for automating protein purification.

The method the two companies developed integrates PhyNexus' PhyTip columns with Tecan's Freedom Evo liquid handling platform. The Freedom Evo has a liquid handling arm and MultiChannel Arm and is controlled using adapted scripts of standard Freedom Evoware operating software, Tecan said in a statement.

It added that although PhyTip columns are primarily used for protein purification, they can be supplied packed with various types of resin, "making their application range extremely broad."
