Takara Bio Subsidiary Sequences Pine Mushroom Genome

NEW YORK, Dec. 14 (GenomeWeb News) - A subsidiary of Takara Bio has finished analyzing the pine mushroom, the company said today.


The subsidiary,  DragonGenomeCenter, used the whole-genome shotgun method to sequence the organism, also known as tricholoma matsutake.


The group said it has "acquired about 80 percent" of its genomic data, and added that it now plans to "reinforce its R&D activities for artificial cultivation" of the mushroom.
