Strand Genomics Pockets $4.6M in First VC Financing Round

NEW YORK, Sept. 19 - Strand Genomics today said it has secured $4.6 million in its first private-equity financing round.

 

WestBridge Capital Partners, based in San Francisco, led the round, which included an investment by UVI Venture Funds and angel investors, Strand said.

 

Strand Genomics will use the money to "expand" its presence in Europe and develop a platform to analyze ADME and associated toxicology properties of molecules, among other things, according to Sreeni Devidas, the firm's vice president of business development and strategy.
