NEW YORK, Feb. 20 - SomaLogic said today it has raised $19.5 million in a series C round of private financing.
The proteomics company plans to use the proceeds of the financing round to support R&D activities in development of its aptamer-based protein microarrays. Aptamers are single-stranded DNA molecules that bind specifically to target molecules.
The round was led by company insiders, who were joined by Japanese trading giant Mitsui & Co. and others. SomaLogic has an existing business development and Asian distribution partnership with Mitsui.
