Silicon Genetics and Affymetrix in Deal to More Tightly Integrate Software to GeneChip Platform

NEW YORK, Feb. 11 (GenomeWeb News) -- Silicon Genetics and Affymetrix today announced the signing of a second strategic collaboration between the two companies.

The two companies will work together to more fully integrate Silicon Genetics' software products for use on Affymetrix's GeneChip platform, advancing a first agreement concluded by the companies in July, which licensed Silicon Genetics of Redwood City, Calif., to distribute Affymetrix's GeneChip probe level data directly. Financial details of today's agreement were not disclosed.

Silicon Genetics makes the GeNet application for enterprise-wide management of microarray data at multi-centric organizations, and the GeneSpring product line for data analysis and visualization.
