Sigma-Aldrich s Revenues, Earnings Increase in Q2

NEW YORK, July 23 (GenomeWeb News) - Sigma-Aldrich yesterday reported increased revenues and earnings for the second quarter.


Revenues were $348.6 million, up from $327 million during the same quarter last year.


Research and development costs stayed flat at $10.2 million, compared to $10.5 million during the same period in 2003.


Sigma's net income for the quarter was $59.6 million, or $.85 per share, up from $48.1 million, or $.67 per share, during the second quarter last year.


As of June 30, Sigma-Aldrich had $138.7 million in cash and cash equivalents.
