Paulette Dillon joins Celera Genomics as chief business officer. She will work with CSO Robert Booth and report to Kathy Ordoñez, president. Dillon last worked as market and business development VP for Exelixis Pharmaceuticals.


Thomas Schweins is the new corporate strategy VP for Qiagen, leaving his post at the Boston Consulting Group.


GeneGo hires in Sean Ekins as VP for computational biology. Ekins comes from Concurrent Pharmaceuticals, where he was associate director for computational drug discovery.


Edward Albini resigns as chief financial officer for Lynx Therapeutics. Susan Berland, a consultant and former CFO of DNA Sciences, will fill the position until a replacement is found.


Exact Sciences also says farewell to its CFO: John McCarthy leaves his post to pursue other opportunities, the company says.


Invitrogen announces two new hires: Michael Stapleton, previously COO of Accelrys, comes aboard as general manager and vice president. Vivien Bonazzi, who comes from directing product development and scientific management at Celera Genomics, is the new director of research and development.


NimbleGen Systems hires Dan Clutter, who has worked at PerkinElmer, ABI, and Celera, among others, as vice president of sales. NimbleGen also announces that Emile Nuwaysir, one of the company’s first employees, will become vice president of business development.


DNAStar’s new VP and general manager is Tom Schwei, who has worked at Promega, PanVera, and Invitrogen.


Robert Voelkner heads to LIMS provider InnaPhase as director of business development. Voelkner was last seen at Thermo Electron, where he was VP of sales for the informatics department.


DNA Phenomics, a genomics-based diagnostic and discovery company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, appoints biochemist Shaharuddin Datuk Aziz as chief scientific officer and Jerry Wicks as chief technology officer. Wicks will also remain in his current post as president of Web-application firm Senecio Software.


Having previously served as counsel at 724 Solutions and Compaq Computer, David Reiter becomes general counsel and VP for Luminex.


Software and consulting firm Pharsight brings on James Bosley as senior director of product management.
