Sequenom Sells MassArray Unit to Hong Kong Research Center

NEW YORK, July 2 - Sequenom today announced the sale of one of its MassArray systems to the Genome Research Center at the University of Hong Kong for work in the HapMap project.


The company didn't provide financial details of the transaction.


The approximately $500,000 system, which is akin to an automated mass spectrometer with powerful software and full automation, will be the San Diego-based company's third installation in China and Taiwan, joining systems at the Academia Sinica and the Shanghai Institute of Hematology.
