Scott DePriest Joins Rosetta as Director of Business Development, Linda Rubinstein New CFO of Solexa, Icoria s CMO Peter Johnson Leaves, and Others

Scott DePriest has joined Rosetta Biosoftware as director of business development, the Seattle-based company said today. Previously, he was director of information business development, sales, and marketing for the Proteome BioKnowledge Library at Incyte Genomics. He also led senior sales management positions at Paracel and Tripos. DePriest holds a PhD in chemistry from the Universityof Missouri-Rolla and a BA in chemistry from St. LouisUniversity.


 

Following its recent transformation from an agricultural genomics to a biomarker company, Icoria of Research Triangle Park, NC, today announced a number of changes in its management and board.

 

Peter Johnson, executive vice president and chief medical officer, is leaving the company "for personal reasons and to pursue other interests," according to Icoria. Brett Farabaugh has been promoted to vice president finance, from director of finance and chief accounting officer.

 

The company also created an "Office of the President" to facilitate the transition, which has the following members: CEO and president Heiri Gugger, who will lead the office; Keith Davis, vice president of agricultural biotechnology; and Doug Morton, a company director and CEO of Southwest Michigan Innovation Center.

 

Robert Goodman, Susan Harlander, and Michael Summers will step down from the board of directors at the company's May 11 annual meeting.


 

Katherine O'Hara will become senior vice president and general counsel of PerkinElmer on May 2, the company said today. Most recently, she was vice president and associate general counsel for Avon Products. O'Hara holds a doctorate of law from ColumbiaUniversity and an undergraduate degree in economics from DukeUniversity.


 

Steven Muskal has become CEO, and Derek Debe chief scientific officer of San Diego-based Eidogen-Sertanty, following the merger of Eidogen and Sertanty earlier this month. Muskal is the former CEO of Sertanty, and Debe the former CEO of Eidogen.


 

Linda Rubinstein has become vice president and will become chief financial officer of Solexa following the company's filing of its 2004 annual report 10-K form, Hayward, Calif.-based Solexa said yesterday. Kathy San Roman, currently acting CFO, will continue as Solexa's vice president of human resources and administration. Rubinstein used to be a principal of RDJ Advisors, a financial and business operations consulting firm. She holds MA and BA degrees in economics from the Universityof California, Los Angeles.


 

Vance Wheelock has joined BioAnalyte to "consult on e-commerce solutions" and to advise the company on selling its proNets and pepNets licenses. He co-founded the Maine Linux User Group in 1995, and founded the Southern Maine Linux Users Group in 2000. Until last fall, Wheelock was the lead web developer for Blue Marble Geographics, a mapping software company.


 

Jason Alter has become director of marketing at TurboWorx. He joins the company from IBM, where he was most recently manager of program marketing for the Healthcare and Life Sciences business unit. Prior to that, he held a number of marketing roles at IBM Life Sciences.
