NEW YORK, July 18 (GenomeWeb News) - Scienion raised more than €4.5 million ($5.7 million) in its latest round of financing, the company said today.
The company expects to use the funds to establish a second development and production site in Dortmund, Germany, and will move into new facilities in the BioMedizinZentrum Dortmund. Scienion will also develop low-level liquid-handling technologies and applications as part of its expansion strategy.
New investors Nrw.Bank and S-Venture Capital Dortmund joined current investors Peppermint Financial Partners, VC Fonds Berlin of IBB and ERP Start Fonds of Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau in this round.
Scienion raised €6 million in its first round of financing in 2001.
