Sanger Installs New $22 Million HP System

NEW YORK, Sept. 25-The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute has a new HP AlphaServer supercomputer system for genome sequencing, the computer company said in a statement yesterday.

 

According to the company, the newly installed server will double the institute's computing power and triple its storage capacity.

 

The system includes 38 ES45, four ES40, two DS20 and one 32-CPU GS320 machines and is worth more than $22 million.
