Ryals Leaves Paradigm s Board

NEW YORK, May 16 - John A. Ryals has resigned from Paradigm Genetics' board of directors, the company said today, adding that "all outstanding issues" related to his ousting as president and CEO in February "have been resolved."

"We truly appreciate all that John Ryals has done for Paradigm," Steven Burrill, the board's chairman, said in a statement. "His leadership and vision helped propel us to where we are today. I am glad we were able to resolve all outstanding issues amicably."

Burrill was widely implicated as being the architect of Ryals' dismissal, leading the former chief to consider suing the firm.

Burrill added: "The CEO search ... is advancing according to schedule. We expect to have identified a final candidate within the next 60 days."
