Pyrosequencing Extends Marketing Reach with New Distribution Deals

NEW YORK, Jan 29 – Pyrosequencing of Uppsala, Sweden said Monday it has extended its marketing reach via a host of new distribution agreements that cover 45 country’s throughout the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Europe.

Pyrosequencing signed exclusive distribution deals with a number of companies that will market Pyrosequencing’s PSQ 96 System for SNP detection. The company will continue to directly market its system in the US, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Germany and France.

The PSQ 96 System includes a sequencing instrument, software and reagent kits. Pyrosequencing, which first released the system in early 2000, had sold 32 systems to customers such as SmithKline Beecham, AstraZeneca, the National Institutes of Health, Harvard Center for Cancer Prevention and DuPont Agriculture.
