Pyrosequencing Completes Biotage Acquisition

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 (GenomeWeb News) - Pyrosequencing said today it has completed the acquisition of Biotage, which the parties announced Oct. 14.

 

In the acquisition, Pyrosequencing, of Uppsala, Sweden, said it made a cash payment of 235 million SEK ($30.5 million  ) and took over a mortgage of 36 million SEK for Biotage's Virginia premises.

 

The acquisition is the second this year for Pyrosequencing. The company acquired Personal Chemistry in September.

 

The company said it will now have about 275 employees, and also said it will likely change its name to Biotage.
