Protein Discovery and LEAP Technologies to Co-Develop MALDI Matrix Sprayer

NEW YORK, April 18 (GenomeWeb News) - Protein Discovery and LEAP Technologies will co-develop and commercialize a MALDI matrix sprayer for tissue imaging mass spectrometry, the companies said today.

 

Tissue imaging mass spectrometry was developed in the Mass Spectrometry Research Center at Vanderbilt University, and enables direct spectrometric analysis of tissues for molecular profiling targeted regions. Protein Discovery, based in Knoxville, Tenn., licensed the technology for its mass spectrometry services and products.

 

LEAP Technologies, based in Carrboro, NC, will contribute its expertise in the MALDI matrix deposition techniques and technology.

 

Financial details were not disclosed.
