Perlegen Hires First CFO; Structural Genomics Taps Drug-Discovery Veep; Agencourt Fleshes Out Science Board

NEW YORK, July 3 - Perlegen Sciences has chosen Matthew Furst as its first chief financial officer, the company said last week.

 

Furst joins Perlegen from ALZA Corporation, where he was senior vice president and chief financial officer until the firm's acquisition by Johnson & Johnson.

 


 

Lexicon Genetics last week named Lorraine Marchand vice president of corporate communications.

 

Marchand was formerly executive director of the pharmaceutical research institute of Bristol-Myers Squibb.

 


 

Structural Genomics has hired Ian McDonald to be its new vice president of drug discovery, the firm announced one week ago.

 

McDonald used to be vice president of drug discovery for Structural Bioinformatics after a stint as vice president of chemistry with Merck Research Laboratories.

 


 

Indian bioinformatics company Strand Genomics has tapped Charles Delisi to join its scientific advisory board.

 

Delisi heads the Biomolecular Systems Laboratory at the Center for Advanced Genomics Technology.

 


 

Agencourt Bioscience said Eugene Della Vecchia would join its board of directors.

 

Della Vecchia is president of Harbor View Associates, a technology-based marketing and sales consulting company. Previously, he has been vice president of worldwide sales for Packard Bioscience.
