PerkinElmer Shares Take a Hit as BCW Index Falls Again

Shares in PerkinElmer fell 13.3 percent for the trading week ended Tuesday after reporting lackluster second quarter revenue growth and a fall in profits (see related article). Bruker also had a poor week, falling 7.6 percent ahead of its second-quarter results, which were released after the closing of trade on Tuesday. Beckman Coulter led gainers with a slight rise of 2.4 percent.
 
Overall, the Index fell 1.3 percent, following a 1-percent decline last week. In comparison, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained .2 percent for the same period, the Nasdaq fell .6 percent, and the Nasdaq Biotech Index declined .3 percent.
