Paradigm s Array Services Business to Use Arcturus LCM System, Reagents

NEW YORK, Aug. 11 (GenomeWeb News) - Paradigm Genetics and Arcturus Biosciences said today that Paradigm's Array Laboratories will use Arcturus' Laser Capture Microdissection system and reagents for dissecting tissue samples as part of its array services business.

According to the companies, laser dissection targets specific cell types for analysis, rather than mixed cell populations, which results in more precise genomic data.

Paradigm said that it can use either Affymetrix or Agilent arrays to analyze gene expression within the dissected samples, and that a "large pharmaceutical company" has already signed on for the service.
