Orion Genomics to Provide Sorghum Sequence to Cold Spring Harbor Lab

NEW YORK, Sept. 15 (GenomeWeb News) - Orion Genomics will provide its proprietary sequences for sorghum to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for annotation of the rice genome and genomes of other grasses, the company said today.

Orion, of St. Louis, and CSHL, published today the first release of this annotated sequence on the website www.gramene.org, a website designed to enable comparative analysis of grass genomes.

The company said it plans to double the amount of sorghum sequence using its DNA methylation technology, GeneThresher, and is planning, along with CSHL, a second annotation of the rice genome for release early next year.
